Simulation Learning Developer

As a Simulation Learning Developer for TheraSim, Inc., you will be on the cutting edge of the medical simulation training industry. The Simulation Learning Developer will be responsible for collaborating with the simulation learning team, including the Client Services Director, TheraSim Medical Director, Sales and the Product Development team to create virtual patient simulations.

The Simulation Learning Developer is part learning design, part business analyst and part “authoring engineer” to bring together TheraSim’s technology and patient content to create a simulation learning program. The position is non-technical but is responsible for using TheraSim’s proprietary software and authoring tools to create virtual patient simulations, ensuring that simulations align to client learning objectives and adequately measures competency performance. We’ll teach the qualified applicant what to do!

This position is part of the content development team and responsibilities are team-based in that the position functions in a highly matrixed organization with ultimate accountability to the client and customer. The position has primary reporting responsibility into the Client Services Director, and is based in RTP/Durham, NC.

• Design, create, and build Clinical Simulation content using TheraSim’s proprietary authoring tools.
• Translate or apply client learning objectives to the TheraSim competency model
• Conduct client-facing or end-user training on TheraSim tools, either on site or via the web/telephone.
• Create and design outcomes reports using resultant simulation learner data.
• Facilitate and guide the creation of dynamic and logical patient simulations.
• Working with clients, vendors, and internal teams to manage video production as well as the video vendor to create final end product video files for simulation.
• Find creative solutions to problems with content integration.
• Other tasks as assigned.

• Minimum Bachelor degree is required with minimum 3+ years relevant experience.
• Self-starter, detail oriented with experience using Web 2.0 applications.
• Enjoys and has a proven ability for learning new technologies.
• Must be able to work in a dynamic and growing startup environment.
• Web software startup experience is a plus.
• Must possess polished interpersonal and verbal/written skills with a strong commitment to customer service.

• Experience with learning management systems and content development technologies, such as Adobe Captivate or Articulate is a plus
• Demonstrable and applicable knowledge of adult learning theory, instructional design, and competency assessment
• HTML/XML design/coding and PHP coding experience is a plus.
